Happy beltane

It was suppose to rain today but the sun is starting to peek out behind the clouds. I think it might turn out to be a grand day yet. Fridays mushroom hunt turned up nothing in the way of fungu, but a nice walk in the sunshine really recharged my batteries. Next 3 days are suppose to be beautiful maybe that will get the mushrooms apoppin

Ahh mother nature

Everyone is getting pretty tired of this crappy weather, all it seems to do is rain or some combination of freezing rain snow. The temps have been around 45 or 50. It seems impossible to get anything done. I've been getting real stir crazy these last few weeks, not being able to get outside to hang laundry or to prepare the garden, not that i can plant anything till the end of may anyways. Tomorrow Stevie and I plan to look for morel mushrooms. We found a nice place where the DNR had come and burned down the grass, hopefully the sun we are suppose to get tomorrow will bring them out

A new start

I have been reading homesteading blogs for a long time now. Even though i  have a few chickens and my tiny garden there just seems like so much more that i haven't tried. I haven't even scratched the surface of homesteading. I guess I'm just an arm chair homesteader but I'm ok with that for now. I guess i just figured that on this long journey that I am embarking on that I should document it some how. I'm not really sure if any one will actually read the ramblings of a girl from a small town in the middle of no where that no one has ever heard of, but i hope. This is my journey and i would love it if you tagged along, because trust me i have a lot of learning to do.
